Mr. Cherner is the Executive Managing Director of CSG Investments, Inc. (CSG) and has led the firm to achieve one of the top performance records of any investment firm, regardless of asset class or investment focus. Mr. Cherner has more than 30 years of experience in investing, capital markets, debt finance, banking, real estate, law, bankruptcy, and restructuring.
In addition to his role at CSG, Mr. Cherner is the chief executive of the management entities of Beal Bank and Beal Bank USA and oversees all of the activities and operations of both banks. Mr. Cherner serves as a member of both banks' Executive Loan Committees, Investment Committees, Risk Management Committees, Interest Rate Setting Committees, and IT Steering Committees.
Mr. Cherner earned a J.D. with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.B.A. with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business. Mr. Cherner is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Steve Harvey is the Chief Operating Officer and a Managing Director of CSG Investments. Mr. Harvey has been the lead in over $1 billion in primary and secondary market transactions.
Before joining CSG, Mr. Harvey worked for nearly 20 years in mergers and acquisitions and greenfield project development. His last position was with NRG Energy.
Mr. Harvey earned a BA in Economics from the University of California, San Diego.
Hans Hubbard is a Managing Director of CSG Investments and has been an energy professional since 2000, with direct experience in non-conforming, private lending since 2004.
Prior to CSG, Mr. Hubbard spent ten years with NGP Capital Resources Company, the publicly traded mezzanine vehicle affiliated with NGP Energy Capital Management. Most recently, he spent a year with Oak Hill Advisors, LP (who took over the NGPC fund) managing and transitioning the legacy energy portfolio. Mr. Hubbard joined NGPC as a senior associate in 2004 and eventually became head of energy investments for the fund. While there, he was directly involved in investments totaling over $4.6B of total issue size with a $600 million hold.
Mr. Hubbard holds a BA from Trinity University (Texas) and a MBA from Rice University. After college, Mr. Hubbard spent over four years in the U.S. Army as a Field Artillery officer. He is active with multiple local, regional, and national oil and gas related associations.
